There is no single repainting schedule that fits every Florida home. Sun exposure, moisture, coating quality, surface material and previous preparation all affect how a finish ages. A shaded side may still look sound while a south or west facing wall shows fading or chalking.
Walk around your home and look for peeling, bubbling, cracks, mildew staining and gaps around trim. Fading alone may be a cosmetic reason to repaint; active moisture or damaged surfaces need attention before coating. Stucco hairline cracks and failed caulk are worth discussing during an estimate.
For interiors, the rooms that see frequent contact often need attention sooner than a quiet guest room. Kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and children’s rooms can wear differently. If you plan to sell or simply want a different feel, the right time may be when a refresh makes sense for your household.
Ask your painter to explain the prep work, products and surfaces included in the scope. A thoughtful plan is more useful than an unsupported promise that a finish will last a set number of years.
